    attractive growth and strong margin dynamics Initially based in London, Grégoire was responsible for JAB’s business development activities outside of the US, which included sourcing investment opportunities and executing M&A transactions. He also actively assisted JAB’s portfolio companies in some of their external growth initiatives. In particular, he led a number of acquisition and JV projects around the globe (France, Brazil, Middle East, Singapore) for Coty, a global leader in Fragrances & Cosmetics. Grégoire also serves as operating partner to JAB’s portfolio companies in Europe, namely JAB Luxury and Espresso House Group (a group of leading coffee shop chains in the Nordics). Grégoire sits on Espresso House’s Board of Directors.

    As part of JAB’s global development, Grégoire recently moved to Singapore to establish JAB’s representative office in Asia with the aim of exploring business and partnership opportunities in the region. Prior to joining JAB, Grégoire was Kering’s ( Strategy & Business Development Director. In his role with Kering, Grégoire was responsible for designing the group’s long term strategy and for initiating and executing all partnership and M&A transactions. He coordinated the Strategic Committee of Kering’s Board of Directors. Grégoire was instrumental in designing and implementing the transformation of Kering (formerly PPR) from a diversified Retail & Luxury conglomerate into a global leader in apparel and accessories brands, specializing in Luxury and in Sports & Lifestyle. This encompassed the completion of over 15 acquisitions and divestments, both at the level of Kering and at that of its subsidiaries. During his time at Kering, Grégoire served as a Member of the Supervisory Board of Puma and as a Director of Volcom’s Board after the companies were acquired in 2007 and 2011, respectively.

    A graduate of HEC, France (1989) and INSEAD (MBA, 1995), Grégoire Amigues began his career at Deloitte & Touche Corporate Finance in France in 1989. After graduating from INSEAD he successively joined Lazard Frères & Cie in 1996, Lehman Brothers in 2001 and a high-street M&A boutique subsequently acquired by Banca Leonardo in 2005. In his years as an investment banker Grégoire advised on numerous mergers and acquisitions, including private and public transactions, privatizations, cross-border deals and joint-ventures. Grégoire joined Kering in 2006 and JAB in 2014.

    Born in Scotland, he was raised in Australia and began his teaching career in the state and private education systems of Queensland, Australia.

    His education includes a Degree in Biological and Chemical Sciences as well as a Master in Education. In the year 2000, Richard moved to Jakarta, Indonesia at a prominent school and was shortly promoted to Principal of Secondary School. During this time the school implemented the International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes (DP, MYP and PYP). In 2005, Richard was again promoted to Head of school for K-12 and worked in this capacity until 2011.

    Richard led this school through a sustained period of growth and advancement, as well as serving on many Boards and Committees strengthening the school community whilst creating a positive impact on the children’s lives through education.

    He served as a member of the Asia Pacific Regional Council for the IB as well as representing Asia Pacific on the IB DP Committee. He was and remains an evaluator of the IB Educator Certificate (offered by universities around the world) as well as a Session Observer of the IB Professional Development workshops with the responsibility of monitoring high quality education delivery.

    Richard is also a qualified Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC-USA) accreditation team member, and he facilitated the establishment of educational groups such as the Indonesian Network of IB schools.

    In 2011, he began work for the International Baccalaureate based in The Hague, The Netherlands. As Head of School Services for Africa, Europe and the Middle East he was responsible for overseeing the authorisation and evaluation of all IB schools in those regions. He then became Head of Development and Recognition working with all schools implementing IB programmes as well as engaging with government ministries and higher education institutions.

    In 2015, Richard moved to the USA and took up a new role within the IB as Director of Global School Services. These responsibilities included the oversight of authorisation and evaluation of all IB schools across the world, developing key relations with accreditation bodies such as the Council of International Schools (CIS) and NEASC, as well as the design and implementation of new school enhancement services.

    Throughout his career Richard has focussed his energy and knowledge on school transformation to deliver the best education possible for students to enrich their lives. He fundamentally believes that the stronger the triangle of partnership (student, parent, teacher) within a school community, the more effective every child's educational experience will be.

    Richard is proud and privileged to accept the role of Head of School GEMS World Academy (Singapore) for GEMS Education, and he looks forward to working with parents, students and staff in the ongoing growth and development of this outstanding school.

Conrad Tsang

    Previously, he was the Hong Kong Venture Capital and Private Equity Association’s Chairman of the Board (2013-2015). He is currently a member of the Hong Kong Real Property Federation and a member of China Real Estate Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong and International Chapter.

Prior to joining Baring, he was with Merrill Lynch Asia Pacific doing equity research, focusing on media and retail sectors. During the 1990s, Mr Tsang began his career at Peregrine Investment Holdings, where he was involved with Asian fixed income sales and marketing.

    Mr Tsang obtained a Master’s Degree in Management Studies at University of Oxford, United Kingdom; and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (First Class Honors) at Imperial College of Science and Technology, London, United Kingdom.
